Sooke Salmon and Halibut Fishing

The small fishing town of Sooke B.C., located about 45 minutes from downtown Victoria, is known for its exceptional Salmon fishing.

In addition to excellent Chinook fishing, this area yields noteworthy catches of Halibut every year, everything from 20 lb chickens to 200 lb barn doors.

Every year many of our guests reel in Chinook (King) Salmon over the thirty pound mark.  These large salmon pass through these waters from May until mid September, with the peak runs occurring from mid July through August.

Not only are the fish big & biting, there's also spectactular west coast scenery
including black bears, eagles and even migrating whales that share the
bounty of the Pacific ocean.

Halibut fishing can be fantasticand occurs out west along the banks
off of Jordan River, San Simon Point, and Sombrio Point.

Large summer Chinook Salmon in the Sooke area average 20 - 25 lbs with thelargest caught in Sooke was just over 60 lbs.
